Found a desolate road where no one came by for hours... just us the storm and the stars. This is a different shot than I posted yesterday on my Facebook page.

The sun was getting low  and lighting them up fine. I had hoped for more external lightning, as there was plenty of rumbling going on, but it was all stuffed inside. But I still like the scene. It's from a series of frames stitched together.

Some people on here have some great knowledge about lighting, I would love to hear their thoughts on this bad boy. Like Dale in the previous post, this is one I had been dreaming up from outback Australia, though I am on west coast in far north Western Australia.

This ones from Monday night 4/11/16 You know that part in Independence Day with will smith where the spaceships are entering earth's atmosphere and there's a huge cloud of smoke and fire around them? Pretty much the same thing here There had to be 10-15 lightning strikes during this 8 second exposure.

What a storm this was last year. Early in its life it dropped a few brief tornadoes, then it transformed into this HP monster, dropping tennis ball sized hail in the core as we kept just ahead of it. I believe this was northwest of Wilson, KS on 4/24/15 at the time this photo was taken.
