This was one of my favorite chases from last year! The meso was totally exposed so it was a really unquiet look into the tornado genesis. Also continue to pray for the families whose homes were damaged by this tornado in Wessington Springs, SD.

It was lightly snowing, a little lake effect storm, but at my house it was clear skies. The roads sucked so I started on my way back home. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me the lights looked blurry. I pulled on to a side street and saw this, setup the camera and shot a few frames. If I had been more awake I would have recognized how rare this is in Utah. Here are light pillars at the rocket manufacturing plant on the west side of the Salt Lake Valley, Utah.

Who says winter weather isn't interesting? ... "As the Storm Breaks" at sunset, a winter wonderland is revealed in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area at Horseshoe Bend. The New Year's snowstorm dropped 5 inches of snow on the Navajo Sandstone, with snow falling into Glen Canyon along the Colorado River. Along the rim of Horseshoe Bend, the snow made the footing treacherous and the edge hard to determine.
